Top Rank has officially announced that the rematch between WBC Super Featherweight Champion Robson Conceicao (19-2-1, 9 KOs) and O’Shaquie Foster (22-3, 12 KOs) will headline an ESPN+ card on November 2. The event will take place in Verona, New York, with a lineup that promises to deliver exciting action across multiple divisions.
The rematch between Conceicao and Foster comes after their first bout in July, which ended in a highly controversial decision. Conceicao was declared the victor by split decision, with scores of 116-112, 115-113, and 112-116. Most observers, including Brunch Boxing’s own unofficial scorer Ezra Hernandez, saw the fight differently. Hernandez, along with many others, had Foster comfortably winning the fight, scoring it 120-108 in favor of the Texan.
Two days after the bout, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman announced that the WBC would review the controversial decision. Following their review, the organization ordered an immediate rematch. Foster will be looking to regain the WBC belt, which many fans and analysts believe he never should have lost in the first place. The rematch promises to settle the score and determine the rightful champion of the division.
In the co-main event, undefeated lightweight prospect Raymond Muratalla (21-0, 16 KOs) will step into the ring against Mexico’s Jesus Antonio Perez Campos (25-5, 18 KOs). Muratalla has been steadily climbing the ranks and will look to continue his winning streak against a tough and experienced Perez Campos, who is known for his power.
Also featured on the card is upstate New York’s own Bryce Mills (16-1, 5 KOs), who will take on the battle-tested veteran “Hammering” Hank Lundy (32-14-1, 14 KOs) in a super lightweight bout. Mills, fighting near his hometown, will look to impress the local crowd, while Lundy aims to prove he still has plenty left in the tank.
Abraham Nova (23-3, 16 KOs), another fan-favorite, will also make an appearance on the card. Though his opponent has yet to be announced, Nova’s presence adds even more depth to the already stacked event.
