Tim Tszyu-Bakhram Murtazaliev IBF Title Bout To Headline PBC on Prime

Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) has officially announced the junior middleweight showdown between former WBO Junior Middleweight Champion Tim Tszyu and unbeaten IBF Junior Middleweight Champion Bakhram Murtazaliev. The two will square off in the main event of PBC on Prime Video on Saturday, October 19, live from the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida. The event will stream exclusively on Prime Video, available to Prime members in the United States and select countries.

The IBF ordered Murtazaliev (22-0, 16 KOs) to defend his title against his mandatory challenger, Tszyu (24-1, 17 KOs). Initially, the IBF had mandated Tszyu to face Erickson Lubin in a final eliminator to determine the next mandatory contender. However, Lubin declined the fight due to an undisclosed hand injury, which led to an agreement between Tszyu and Murtazaliev’s teams just before a scheduled September 5 purse bid.

For Tszyu, this bout marks an opportunity to reclaim a championship after a tough loss to Sebastian Fundora on March 30. In that brutal, bloody battle, Tszyu lost his WBO junior middleweight title in a split decision, in what was the headliner of PBC’s inaugural event on Prime PPV. Tszyu, known for his relentless pressure and power, will aim to bounce back and become a two-time champion in the junior middleweight division.

Murtazaliev, who has quietly amassed an impressive undefeated record, will be making the first defense of his IBF title since claiming the belt against Jack Culcay in April. A technically sound and dangerous fighter with a high knockout percentage, Murtazaliev will look to solidify his position for one of the other elite names in the division by defeating a former champion like Tszyu.
