The Fundora Era looks to kick off 2025 with a bang.
Undisputed flyweight champion Gabriela “Sweet Poison” Fundora (15-0, 7 KOs) is gearing up to make her first title defense in early 2025. The 22-year-old sensation will face IBF mandatory challenger Marilyn “La Mexicana” Badillo (19-0-1, 3 KOs) in the spring, as confirmed by her promoter Sampson Lewkowicz in an interview with Brunch Boxing.
“We have a mandatory by the IBF with Marilyn Badillo from Mexico. That will be the next fight for her. Most likely March or April,” Lewkowicz stated.

Last November, Fundora made history, becoming boxing’s youngest four-belt undisputed champion when she stopped Gabriela Alaniz in the seventh round to fully unify the flyweight division. Entering the bout as the IBF titleholder, Fundora claimed the WBC, WBA, and WBO belts with the emphatic win, cementing her place in boxing history. The victory was highlighted by a devastating knockout that saw Alaniz go down face-first, earning Fundora Brunch Boxing’s Women’s Knockout of the Year.
Following her record-breaking 2024 campaign, Fundora was also named the Brunch Boxing Women’s Fighter of the Year.

Her opponent, Marilyn Badillo, brings an impressive resume of her own. The 24-year-old Mexican fighter is on an 11-fight win streak, bouncing back from a draw in 2019 to establish herself as one of the best young talents in Mexico. Known for her high boxing IQ and technical style, Badillo poses a unique challenge for the hard-hitting Fundora.
Badillo’s accomplishments extend beyond the ring. She recently graduated with a degree in engineering and has become a household name in Mexico, thanks in part to her appearance on TV Azteca’s 100 Mexicanos Dijeron, the Mexican version of Family Feud.
The exact date and venue for the fight will be announced in the coming weeks.
