Takuma Inoue-Tenshin Nasukawa Rematch to Headline Star-Studded Event

One of Japan's biggest boxing rivalries is set for another chapter.
Sources tell Brunch Boxing that a highly anticipated rematch between Takuma Inoue and Tenshin Nasukawa has been finalized for September 27. The bout, which will take place at the Toyota Arena in Tokyo, follows their meeting last December, when Inoue earned the victory and handed Nasukawa the first loss of his professional career.
Inoue enters the rematch with plenty of momentum. The former world champion improved to 22-2 with five knockouts after a dominant unanimous decision over Kazuto Ioka in May. Meanwhile, Nasukawa carries an 8-1 record with three knockouts after stopping former champion Juan Francisco Estrada in April. Now, he gets the chance to even the score in one of the year's most anticipated fights.
The card also features several high-profile matchups across multiple weight classes.
Former IBF bantamweight champion Ryosuke Nishida moves up to face top super bantamweight contender Sam Goodman. Nishida owns an 11-1 record with two knockouts and is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Bryan Vazquez in February. Goodman stands at 22-1 with eight knockouts after defeating Rodrigo Ruiz by unanimous decision in April.
Rising super flyweight prospect Tomoya Tsuboi continues his rapid climb toward a world title shot against IBO super flyweight champion Ricardo Malajika. Tsuboi is 3-0 with two knockouts, although his April bout against Pedro Guevara ended in a no contest. The unbeaten Japanese prospect will look for his first victory of 2026.
Malajika brings both experience and momentum into the matchup. The South African contender owns a 17-2 record with 12 knockouts and is coming off a unanimous decision win over Vince Paras last November.
Another title fight will see WBC strawweight champion Siyakholwa Kuse make the first defense of his crown against unbeaten challenger Ryusei Matsumoto. Kuse enters with a 10-3-1 record and four knockouts after capturing the title from Melvin Jerusalem in May. On the other side, Matsumoto is 8-0 with four knockouts and has built momentum with back-to-back victories over Yuni Takada.
The action continues with another compelling matchup at super flyweight. Former world title challenger Seigo Akui, who owns a 23-3-1 record with 13 knockouts, will square off against David Jimenez. Jimenez enters the bout at 18-1 with 12 knockouts and looks to strengthen his position among the division's top contenders.
An official press conference to announce the event details is scheduled for Thursday, July 23, at 5 p.m. JST. More information, including the date and venue, is expected to be revealed during the announcement.
