Undefeated rising super featherweight contender Dominique “Trapp” Francis is the latest high-profile signee to join the growing stable at Fighters First Management, the company announced Wednesday.
“I’m very grateful for this opportunity to sign with Fighters First Management,” said Francis (16-0, 10 KOs) in an official press release. “I’m ready to take my career to the next level with the right team behind me.”
The 24-year-old standout is coming off the biggest win of his young career, a dominant fourth-round stoppage of previously unbeaten Julio Lugo in October. The victory announced Francis as a serious force in the division, backing up the praise of boxing insiders—including renowned manager Rachel Donaire—who had long touted him as a future star.
A decorated amateur and seven-time national champion, Francis is trained by Derik Santos alongside his father and lifelong mentor, Smith Francis. His style is a blend of technical precision and flash, shaped by the influence of legendary fighters like Roy Jones Jr., Sugar Ray Leonard, Floyd Mayweather, Andre Ward, Chris Algieri, and Pernell Whitaker.
In an exclusive interview with Brunch Boxing, Francis opened up about his mindset, his path, and the future ahead.
“I’ve been doing this stuff for so long. That’s all you could want, man,” said Francis. “Us as fighters, I feel like we all want a few things: to be recognized for your talent, your dedication, be able to eat the fruits of your labor, receive the money that you feel like you deserve. And all this stuff is coming to me now. People are starting to recognize me. They know my name. They’re getting used to hearing my name.

“They’re about to get really used to seeing this talent. Me displaying my talent, hearing the way I talk, all type of stuff. I’m about to be in these people’s face a lot more. So, I’m excited. I’m excited towards what’s more to come.”
What’s next for Francis is a soon-to-be-announced summer return, as he eyes a breakout 2025 campaign.
The 130-pound division is wide open and full of intrigue, and Francis is positioning himself for marquee matchups and eventual title contention. Names like Lamont Roach Jr., Stephen Fulton, Emanuel Navarrete, O’Shaquie Foster, Eduardo Nunez, and Raymond Ford loom as potential future opponents, and Francis welcomes the challenge.
“I know anybody who step in the ring with me gonna have to face me and see me,” said Francis. “Because I’m here and I’m not no easy opposition. I’m not somebody just gonna lay down or you can walk over. I’m one of the best in the game.”
With the backing of Fighters First Management and his blend of charisma, talent, and hunger, Francis is poised to make a major statement this summer—and in the years to come.
