The highly anticipated rematch between heavyweight titans Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury is officially on. For the first time since their thrilling undisputed heavyweight title clash, Usyk and Fury will come face-to-face in a formal setting. Queensbury Promotions has announced that the kickoff press conference for the rematch will take place on October 23.
Oleksandr Usyk, who outpointed Tyson Fury in a dramatic contest earlier this month to claim the undisputed heavyweight crown, will face the “Gypsy King” once again on December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The rematch was confirmed by Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, who broke the news on Twitter/X.

The pair first met on May 18 in Saudi Arabia, where Usyk narrowly defeated Fury by split decision. The back-and-forth battle saw Usyk start strong before Fury took control with his signature jabs and punishing body shots. Usyk regained momentum in the later rounds, scoring a knockdown in Round 9 that nearly ended the fight. With the win, Usyk became the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era, unifying his WBA, WBO, and IBF titles with Fury’s WBC belt.
However, Fury had the right to trigger an immediate rematch, and he wasted no time in doing so. This time, the fight will be for the WBC, WBA, and WBO championships, as Usyk was stripped of the IBF title after opting to bypass a mandatory bout with Daniel Dubois. Fury, looking to reclaim his status as heavyweight king, will be aiming to become a three-time world champion.

The rematch card is stacked with talent, headlined by super welterweight contenders Israil Madrimov and Serhii Bohachuk in the co-main event. Both fighters are known for their explosive styles, and their fight is expected to bring excitement before the main event. Madrimov, a former WBA junior middleweight champion, is coming off a close unanimous decision loss to Terence Crawford in August, while Bohachuk lost a narrow majority decision to Vergil Ortiz Jr. just days later.
In addition to Madrimov vs. Bohachuk, the undercard will feature rising heavyweight stars Moses Itauma and Johnny Fisher in separate bouts. Itauma (10-0, 8 KOs) will face a tough test against Demsey McKean (22-1, 14 KOs), who is looking to bounce back from a loss to Filip Hrgovic. Fisher (12-0, 11 KOs) will take on battle-hardened veteran Dave Allen (23-6-2, 18 KOs).
At 122 pounds, undefeated Dennis McCann (16-0-1, 8 KOs) faces Peter McGrail (10-1, 6 KOs), while Isaac Lowe (25-2-3, 8 KOs) moves up in weight to meet Lee McGregor (14-1-1, 8 KOs) in a featherweight clash.

Boxing fans around the world will be counting down the days until December 21 as the sport’s biggest stars prepare to deliver another unforgettable night in Saudi Arabia.
The December 21 card in Riyadh is shaping up to be one of the biggest nights in boxing. As Turki Alalshikh put it, “Before the two giants collide in Fury v Usyk Reignited, the undercard is set to light up the ring. With some of the biggest names in boxing stepping into the ring, these matchups will set the stage for an unforgettable night.”
