The mandatory WBO junior middleweight title clash between unified WBO and WBC champion Sebastian Fundora and unbeaten mandatory challenger Xander Zayas is officially headed to a purse bid, the WBO announced Saturday.
The bout was originally ordered on March 24, with a deadline of April 12 for Top Rank and PBC to reach an agreement. After jointly requesting and receiving an extension, the two sides were given until April 25 to finalize a deal but were ultimately unable to do so. As a result, the WBO will now conduct a live-streamed purse bid next week.
The minimum bid is set at $200,000, with the purse split favoring the champion Fundora (22-1-1, 14 KOs) at 75%, while Zayas (21-0, 13 KOs) will receive 25%.

Fundora is coming off the first defense of his unified titles, a dominant knockout win over Chordale Booker on March 22 in the main event of a PBC on Amazon Prime card. Zayas, one of boxing’s brightest young stars, is coming off a dominant victory of his own, with a ninth-round TKO of Slawa Spomer on February 14.
In a March interview with Brunch Boxing, Zayas made his goals clear: “I’m fighting for the [WBO] title next! Whoever or whenever it is, that’s what’s next for me.”
The date and details for the live-streamed purse bid will be announced shortly.
