Tonight, fight fans in the Motor City are in for a night of fireworks when Salita Promotions presents BIG TIME BOXING USA at the iconic Fox Theater in Detroit, Michigan. The card is headlined by a banger of a heavyweight showdown between knockout artists Brandon Moore and DeAndre Savage, but the co-feature is drawing just as much buzz: Olivia Curry taking on Kaye Scott for the WBC and WBA Middleweight Championship.
Curry, a film director turned pugilist, sat down with Brunch Boxing for an exclusive interview ahead of the biggest fight of her career.

“We’re fighting for these two belts, WBC and WBA. I’m excited to win them and bring them back home to Chicago,” Curry said. “I’ve obviously never fought for a world title before. So this is like the highest level. It’s a dream come true.”
Curry burst onto the global boxing scene with her unforgettable 2023 war with Shadasia Green. Though she came up short on the scorecards, she pushed the much larger Green to the brink and proved she belonged among the sport’s elite.
Now, with championship gold within reach, Curry views this opportunity as a storybook moment, especially given the venue.
“I’m super excited that this card is gonna be in the Midwest,” she said. “I’m from the Midwest, my dad from the Detroit area, my sister lives up there. I’m excited to be boxing up in Michigan.”

As for what fans can expect when the opening bell rings, Curry isn’t making any promises, except one: that action. Known for grit and heart, Olivia Curry’s shot at the WBC and WBA Middleweight titles is expected to be every bit the battle she predicts.
“We’re going to war. Don’t miss it,” she vowed.
