Boxing fans may remember Kudratillo Abdukakhorov as the longtime IBF mandatory challenger for Errol Spence Jr. However, the veteran welterweight now faces a battle outside the ring.
Abdukakhorov last fought Kevin Anton on the March 21 ProBox TV card in California. Anton stopped him in the first round after Abdukakhorov appeared to clutch his head in pain before the fight ended.
Since then, the aftermath has created another headache for the Uzbek fighter.
Thomas Walker of Fighting Styles recently spoke with Abdukakhorov, who claims he never received payment for the bout. Unfortunately, disputes over fighter pay remain an ongoing issue in boxing.
According to Abdukakhorov, ProBox paid his purse to his manager, Kiki Magana. He alleges that Magana never passed the money along to him or his coaching staff. Instead, Abdukakhorov says Magana stopped communicating with him altogether.

The situation became even more complicated after Abdukakhorov returned home. His U.S. visa has expired, and he cannot legally enter the United States to address the matter in person.
Meanwhile, Abdukakhorov says he repeatedly tried to contact Magana. Those efforts allegedly went nowhere. He claims Magana never responded after he returned to Uzbekistan.
As a result, Abdukakhorov believes he has few options. Because he remains in Uzbekistan, he says there is little practical recourse available to recover the money or investigate what happened.
Eventually, he decided to speak publicly about the situation. According to Abdukakhorov, Magana later contacted him and urged him to stop posting about the dispute online.
Even so, Abdukakhorov says he still has not received payment. He also claims he has never been given an accounting of where the money went.
At this point, the allegations remain unresolved. No public explanation has addressed Abdukakhorov's claims regarding the missing purse.
Magana manages several notable fighters, including Eduardo Hernandez, Luis Alberto Lopez, and Juan Francisco Estrada, among others. Whether the dispute will be resolved remains to be seen, but Abdukakhorov says he is still waiting to be paid.
